Mr. Daniel Metzger
Daniel Metzger is the Director of Advisory Services at AccountAbility.
With over a decade of corporate sustainability / ESG experience, Daniel’s expertise is in strategy design and implementation, stakeholder engagement, double materiality assessment, and ESG governance, KPIs, and metrics, reporting, and disclosure.
Daniel serves clients in Financial Services (International Monetary Fund (IMF), Credit Suisse, Riyad Bank, the Saudi Investment Bank, and others); Energy, Extractives, and Utilities (Saudi Aramco, New York Power Authority (NYPA), ACWA Power, Ma'aden Mining Company, National Grid, SP Energy Networks, Scottish & Southern Energy Networks, UK Power Networks, and others); Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals (Merck, Bayer, New York-Presbyterian, Bupa, and others); among other industries (Tetra Pak, McDonald's, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Nareit), JBG SMITH, King Khalid Foundation, Saudi Telecom Company (STC), and others).
He is a Certified Sustainability Assurance Practitioner (CSAP) and has supported the development of AccountAbility's AA1000 AccountAbility Principles and AA1000 Assurance Standard.
Prior to joining AccountAbility, Daniel’s work focused on sustainability education and facilities management for corporate, government, and non-profit organizations. He worked with Tradition Energy, an energy brokerage firm, pricing power and natural gas contracts for industrial and commercial clients, served as Assistant Director of Facilities for LEED Gold-certified buildings in Manhattan, and supported JPMorgan Chase’s Global Real Estate Group in evaluating portfolio-wide energy efficiency retrofit opportunities.
Daniel holds a Master of Science degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science with a Minor in Applied Statistics from the University of Michigan.
