AccountAbility CEO Sunny Misser Appointed to the Cardinal’s Committee for Charity in New York

New York - London, January 5, 2026 —AccountAbility today announced that Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sunil (Sunny) A. Misser, has been appointed to the Cardinal’s Committee for Charity, an initiative of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, strengthening leadership in corporate governance, sustainability, and community impact.

The Cardinal’s Committee for Charity, an initiative of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, brings together senior executives from leading global institutions—including Santander, BlackRock, J.P. Morgan, Citi, EY, and KPMG to advance philanthropic initiatives and strengthen communities across the Greater New York region.

Leadership in Sustainability and ESG

Mr. Misser was nominated by Marco Antonio Achon, Co-Chair of the Committee and Global Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Santander. His appointment reflects a shared commitment to responsible leadership, community impact, and cross-sector collaboration.

Mr. Misser’s leadership exemplifies what this Committee seeks to represent – trust, empathy, and a commitment to service,” said Mr. Achon. “His experience in driving accountability, partnerships and impact across global institutions brings an important perspective to our shared mission of building stronger, responsible and more compassionate communities throughout New York.”

Misser’s appointment underscores his longstanding leadership in sustainability, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). At AccountAbility, he has led global efforts to help organizations improve performance through stakeholder engagement, ESG strategy, and responsible business practices. In his role on the Committee, he will focus on expanding partnerships that drive equitable opportunity, community development, and economic inclusion in New York.

Strengthening Community Impact in New York

“It is a privilege to join the Cardinal’s Committee for Charity and contribute to its mission of compassion and community,” said Mr. Misser, Chief Executive Officer of AccountAbility. “While AccountAbility works with organizations around the world to advance sustainability and performance, this role reflects our equally important commitment to improving lives here in New York.”

This appointment builds on AccountAbility’s broader commitment to integrating purpose and performance, including its recent launch of the AccountAbility Sustainability “S” Lab partnership with the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership at City College of New York (CCNY), where Mr. Misser serves on the school’s Board of Visitors.

Why This Appointment Matters for CSR and Sustainability Leadership

This appointment reflects the increasing role of corporate leaders in advancing corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG strategy, and community impact in New York. As organizations face growing expectations around ESG performance, stakeholder accountability, and nonprofit governance, leadership engagement in civic and philanthropic initiatives continues to expand.

It also reflects a broader trend of business leaders contributing to nonprofit boards and community development efforts, strengthening collaboration between the private sector and social impact organizations in New York and globally.

Sustainability extends beyond corporate operations and increasingly includes local community engagement, economic inclusion, and long-term social impact.
